Happy Independence Day....

I happened upon this marker a few months ago entirely by chance as I wandered through the streets of Paris' St. Germain District. The plaque is located at 56 Rue Jacob near the intersection where Jacob becomes Rue de L'Universite.

For those of my readers who don't read French, the marker states:

In this Building
Jadis Hotel of York
The 3rd of September, 1783
David Hartley,
In the Name of the King of England,
Benjamin Franklin,
John Jay, John Adams
in the Name of the United States of America
Signed the Final Treaty of Peace
Recognizing the Independence
of the United States

As we go about our holiday plans with family and friends, let's all take a moment to remember that our country's Founders fought a long and very hard war against a despotic government that began July 4th 1776 and formally ended a little more than 7 years later.

Again, Happy Independence Day to All!

From Consent Of The Governed: Michael Steele Defends Linda McMahon

Judy Aron at Consent of the Governed has just posted a News Flash to the apparently VERY DENSE Michael Steele who was in Nutmeglandia to bolster RINO Linda McMahon's campaign.

A Note to Michael Steele:

We do not like Linda McMahon because she is transparently opportunistic. Her very recent history of campaign contributions to the
DCCC and Rahm Emanuel's last three congressional campaigns makes her campaign statements of fiscal conservancy ring very hollow. See e.g.: Is Linda McMahon a Secret Democrat? - I Think So

Judy Aron very eloquently states her case. I urge you to PAY VERY CLOSE ATTENTION TO WHAT SHE HAS SAID. Your future as Party Chair will depend in part on the results of the November 2 elections and how much money you can bring into the Party's coffers. From what I'm hearing here and there, your candidate choices have resulted in quite lackluster fund-raising. Why are you so tone deaf?
